"Leonidas Bairaktaris: Steadfastly Tuned to the Values of Honor and Service"
Leonidas Bairaktaris was born in Zurich, Switzerland, grew up in Alexandria, Imathia, and currently resides in Agios Dimitrios, Attica.
He is a retired Army officer with extensive service and a multifaceted record of social and volunteer activities.
He served in various positions, including Commander of the Port of Piraeus Military Command (S.D.L.P.), Director of the Commander's Staff Office of the Higher Military Command of Interior and Islands (ASDEN), and as a member of the United Nations Guards Contingent in Iraq (UNGCI).
From a young age, he was actively involved in Scouting — starting as a Cub Scout and later serving as Scout Group Leader and Superintendent of Administration for the Local Scout District of Alexandria, under the Regional Scout Authority of Imathia.
He is also an amateur music producer, operating under the artistic name “LeonBa”, with a focus on international music from the 1980s and 1990s, particularly in the Rock and Disco genres.
As a licensed radio amateur, he began with the callsign SW1OCA and later upgraded to A-Class (SV1OCA). He has served as General Secretary of the Radio Amateur Association of Greece (RAAG) and has been an active member of RAAG's Emergency Communications Teams (H.A.R.E.S).
He has given interviews in both national and international media and has received several international amateur radio awards and recognitions, including:

• WWA Sprint Jul 2024 & 2025,
and has a significant collection of QSL cards.
As a radio communications volunteer, he has assisted in the organisation of the Eirinodromia of the Municipality of Agios Dimitrios in 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2024.
He currently serves as:

Member of the Joint Public Relations Office of the three twinned associations (S.A.A.Y.S – S.A.A.S.M-TH – S.A.A.SMY)
Assistant at the Public Relations Office of the Hellenic Association of Retired Army Officers (E.A.A.S)

His ongoing commitment lies in active service, collaboration, and promoting the values of the military, volunteerism, and solidarity.
