First of all, what is a BIOTOPE?
A biotope is a habitat providing favorable ecological conditions for the development of an animal or plant species (shelter, reproduction, rest, food…). It can therefore be ponds, marshes, hedges, groves, heaths, dunes, lawns, forests, more or less exploited by humans.
As for us, it is a crystal-clear body of water (or natural pool), where we coexist in harmony with the living (plants and insects).
For those who have booked the cottage or the tiny house, you will have access to our biotope. A magical and unique place where you can enjoy the peace and serenity of the site.
This aquatic area was entirely self-built. Several years of reflection, deliberation, self-questioning, and stress during the finalization. But it was worth it. Today, what a joy to be able to enjoy this crystal-clear water. It’s just incredible.
A 300m2 free-swimming pool surrounded by greenery. Maximum depth 2m + 2 steps where you can stand.
So be aware that it is not a heated pool. Depending on the time of your reservation, you may or may not be able to enjoy it. It also depends on your tolerance for the coolness of the water. But in summer, it oscillates between 25 and 29°C. Of course, it depends on the weather...
Speaking of water, it means biodiversity. And with us, it is simply exceptional. The biotope attracts a multitude of insects that come to quench their thirst in this pure water: butterflies, dragonflies, bees... It’s a real spectacle (of course, it depends on the season). Many birds also come to drink without fear because we live in harmony with them. In spring and summer, you will probably have the chance to see a flock of swallows diving happily into the water, regardless of whether you are swimming or not. It’s just magical.
It should also be noted that we have put 5 or 6 goldfish in the basin; it adds color and is very pleasant to watch. They are very shy, they won’t bother you.
Finally, and I insist on this point because I am often asked: NO, DOGS cannot go swimming in the water body; it is strictly FORBIDDEN.
