Students participating in Legacy Debate Club must meet the following criteria found in the Legacy eligibility information and is only open to Legacy club members who compete in speech as well. Debaters must meet these additional criteria:
1. Competitors shall be ages 14 to 18 on October 1st of the current school year or have had one or more years of prior speech or debate experience.
2. Competitors must be homeschooled and agree to the Stoa statement of faith as well as the Legacy code of conduct.
3. Competitors must attend a Legacy-approved summer LD camp (Legacy Debate Camp, Helmsman Debate Camp (online or in various regions), National Institute of Homeschool Debate (NIHD), Monument Debate Camp).
4. Students must attend at least 3 debate tournaments throughout the year. In 2024, there were 3 debate tournaments in the Bay Area, and 7 in the Greater NorCal area.
5. Competitors must be a member and participant of Legacy Speech Club.
6. Students must pay $50 per semester (in addition to Legacy Speech Club dues) and attend club meetings.
