LECNY offers professional development!

New York state teachers who hold a Professional Certificate, must accumulate 100 hours of professional development every five years to maintain their professional certification. Teachers who attend LECNY events can earn language-related professional development hours. In addition to earning service credit hours, you'll stay up to date on developments in our profession and learn the latest and greatest ideas! 

LECNY offers networking!

As professionals, we all seek opportunities to continue growing, especially in our knowledge of language and culture. Our events are a wonderful place to gather with old friends and make new ones - all while discussing our passion for teaching world languages.

LECNY offers student awards and teacher grants!

LECNY's fundraising efforts help us to honor outstanding students with our student scholarships. We also honor innovative and dedicated teachers with the teacher classroom grant. You must be a LECNY member for you or your students to be considered for these awards. 

LECNY keeps you informed!

LECNY maintains a website and sends quarterly e-newsletters throughout the school year to keep members informed of LECNY events and other events and topics of interest to language educators. While archived issues of the newsletter can be found on lecny.net, only LECNY members have access to the most recent issue.

LECNY membership offers discounts at our events! 

For the LECNY events that require a registration fee, members receive a discount over non-members.
