Substantial Completion
As a College, we are committed to doing everything we can to support students’ learning and ensure that they are able to attain substantial completion* of their Winter 2020 semester courses. Please consult with your Associate Dean and faculty team regarding any changes to your original plan for assessments.
*Substantial completion refers to modifications to the assessment of learning outcomes (LOs), not about making changes to the LOs.
Once faculty have identified whether the learning outcomes aligned with the final assessment have been met and the course has attained substantial completion, they can proceed as follows:
Verify that every learning outcome has been assessed within the course. Ensure the final exam or assessment was not going to be assessing any previously un-assessed learning outcomes.
Assign a final grade based on assessments already completed.
Share Feedback with students where appropriate. This can also be provided via audio or video.
