Lih-Yuan Deng

Lih-Yuan Deng currently serves as the Statistics Program Coordinator in the Department of Mathematical Sciences. His active research work in the past can be divided into several areas: (1) sampling techniques and variance estimation (2) design of experiment (3) bioinformatics and DNA sequence analysis (4) design of random number generators for both computer simulation applications and cyber-security applications. A total of thirteen students received a Ph.D. degree under his supervision. According to recent Google Scholar, a total of 1555 citations with h-index of 18 and i10-index of 31. Recently, Lih-Yuan Deng is extending his research to big data and data science research where we apply ``subsampling procedure for big-data” so that subsamples chosen are representative of the full data set so that additional analysis will yield consistent results.
