Notes about what to bring to working bees:

What to bring for bush restoration working bees:

    • gardening gloves (if you wish - thornproof are handy)

    • folding saw and/or secateurs (and/or a small spade) (Not essential for tree planting)

    • your favourite spade (if planting involved - please clean it of all mud and soil)

General guidance for all working bees:

    • suitable clothing for conditions – we recommend long sleeves and trouser legs to prevent scratches from "cutty grass"

    • robust old boots or shoes (you won't need gumboots, but bring them if you want to work down by streams or wetland)

    • water bottle/snacks/sunscreen/insect repellent/hat to suit your needs

    • NOTE: please wash and clean your boots, gloves and tools of all soil - esp if you have been in an area where Kauri Dieback may occur

Special equipment for fencing working bees:

    • your favourite spade for digging fence post holes (please clean it of all mud and soil)

    • hammer, wire cutters and leather gloves - for running fencing wire along the walkway route

    • Maybe: bolt cutters and leather gloves (if working bee involves installing mesh along the walkway route)
