WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM

The Women's Empowerment Program, is a program that was specifically designed to support women in multiple ways. The aim is to enable women realize their position in the community and work towards becoming more independent, both financially and socially

Within Our NGO, we managed to establish A Daycare called Little Dream Academy. This program aims at helping women from low-income families, who have little children that would keep them from going out to work. Due to pre-existing negative cultural practices, the woman is expected to be at home most of the time; look after the children, especially the little ones, and doing all house work.

The child is left with us for the day and is picked up later in the evening. We help these women by taking care of their little ones during the daytime. Giving them the freedom of going to work which, otherwise, they wouldn’t have! We do this as one way of empowering the woman by making them contribute to the income of the family.

When the woman is fully dependent on a husband or some other men, their liberty is likely to be in jeopardy. Their freedom of expression and freedom of association are minimized, which exposes them to some kind of abuse through gender violence and gender inequality. By providing them with this kind of support, we give them power to protect their liberty and dignity.
