This is a preview of the score to a piece I wrote for beginning band in the winter of 2024. It is a level 1/1.5, and adheres to the standards set forth by the American Band College for a level 1 piece. it includes minimal accidentals, as well as less standard beginning band doublings and part splits to make for a more interesting experience for both the students and the conductor. MHPC American Music Slideshow/Assessment

During my high school student teaching placement, I was given the opportunity to present a 3-day survey unit on American Music to the Music History/Popular Culture (MHPC) class. At the end of the unit, I created an assessment that was tailored to the content given to them during the classes.
