Spring 2024 Teacher Performance Assessment
Compiled over a period of 5 months, I feel this presentation best represents my student teaching experience. During my two placements, I learned immeasurable amounts about the art of teaching, as well as how to be an effective team member in a school. I was given the liberty of creating my own lessons, units, assessments, and rehearsal schedules. All of these served beneficial to me in my development as a teacher, as well as for the students as people and musicians. I liked to center my teaching around teamwork, positive interactions and collaborations, a positive learning environment, as well as being held to a developmentally appropriate standard. This presentation was shown to and approved by the Crane School of Music Education faculty on May 7, 2024.

Practicum in Teaching Beginning Instruments Lesson Plans
This is the complete collection of lesson plans I taught during my enrollment in Practicum in Teaching Beginning Instruments during the spring semester of 2023. These lessons were very fun to put together, and were centered around the student playing and being engaged as much as possible. I feel I could have been more descriptive of my assessment, as some of the language I used made what i was assessing very confusing (i.e. 80% correct notes and rhythms).Â
Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, Camp Bernstein Sectional Teacher Evaluations
While working at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp in Twin lake, Michigan, I held multiple positions. One of these includes being a sectional instructor at the institution's junior camp, Camp Bernstein. As the sectional teacher, I coordinated with various band directors, and facilitated instruction in technique, tone, sight reading and the music the students were playing in the camp band. Throughout this experience, I gained valuable experience in scaffolded instructional techniques to foster the inclusion of all learners, the use of age-appropriate classroom management and practical application of the Universal Design of Learning through the use of antecedent techniques to assist in the instruction of students with various ability levels. I also gained valuable skills in expressive conducting. I received evaluations for each session from the band director.
