Application of the Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
This is a project based on the guidelines and principles of the Universal Design for Learning (UDL), and how they can be applied in the music classroom. I believe that regardless of the amount of "disabled" students in a class, the UDL should always be implemented, especially as we navigate the world of education following the COVID-19 Pandemic. This shows that I want my classroom to be as inclusive as possible, especially where differences in learning and retention of information is concerned.
Spring 2024 Student Teaching Reflections
Each week, student teachers were asked to send in their thoughts on the week they had. Sometimes, these reflections are hard, as we had to be very honest about the effectiveness of our instruction. As a young teacher, this level of critique is painful, yet necessary to continue to grow. This kind of reflection benefits the teacher as well as the students. The second you stop be critically honest with yourself, you stop growing and the kids stop learning.
