Being Outdoors
White Mountains. Lake with a pontoon boat. Can you guess what makes it float?
Shiprock, New Mexico. It's the core of an extinct volcano, but it seems like a dragon with a long tail to me.
Canyon de Chelly. The canyon walls are sandstone. Can you see the plowed field?
The Grand Canyon. Eroded sedimentary rock.
Navajo Native Lands. The tipi is above the ground so the air comes into the tipi and rises up through the top. This makes the inside cooler.
When I visited friends in Arizona, I helped them with their cows. Yup, I'm a farm girl.
California has a lot of crops. These almond trees are blooming in March. The white petals fall and it seems like snow.
Almonds grow with a fuzzy jacket called a hull. Inside that is the shell. Inside the shell is the nut we eat.
My favorite car is a truck.
