Standard Connection - My new familiarity with Standard 1: Teaching Diverse Students has strengthened my understanding and prepared me for my future as an educator. The diversity of students ranges in so many different levels ways, that we often forget that disabilities fall under this term. The completion of this essay, has given me substantial knowledge on this topic and has prepared me for future experiences in my classroom. The understanding of this topic acts as a foundation to solutions that will need to be made in my years as an educator.

Self-Evaluation – Researching this topic gave me great insight on future students that I may have in my classroom with a visual impairment. The evidence that I have found regarding this topic has strengthened my understanding tremendously. So often, we only hear about individuals who need glasses due to being nearsighted or farsighted. However, when digging deeper, I have come to find that there are so many other given situations that fall under visual impairments. Having the experience of this paper has also helped me to strengthen my understanding of teaching diverse students.

One weakness that I have regarding this field, is the lack of experience. However, information regarding the material serves as the foundation of understanding. This PowerPoint reflects all the valuable information that I learned and shows a glimpse of how I was able to showcase my understanding to my peers.
