Welcome to Social Work Practicum for Summer, 2025!
If you are interested in enrolling in this class, please make sure you have reviewed this page carefully and asked me any questions you may have. Some very important reminders, before going any further:
This class is mainly for students who have arranged their own placements; in the summer, CCSF has extremely limited placement options. Contact me to discuss what placement you plan to use.
There are required Zoom meetings for this class (you will be dropped from the course if you do not attend the first one, or lose a letter grade if you do not attend one of the subsequent ones!):
June 3 from 6 - 7pm
July 1 from 6 - 7pm
July 25 from 6 - 7pm
This class is 8 weeks long and requires a total of 162 hours over the summer -- 12 of those are reserved for class meetings and paperwork, so a placement is 150 hours (approximately 20 hours a week if all 8 weeks are worked).
This questionnaire is really helpful for me to plan our class. You do not have to fill it out, but if you do not, you may not be able to prepare your placement with enough time to complete it over the summer, so I highly recommend it!
Still here? Fabulous! I am so excited to have you in a second (and for some of you third) class with me. Here is some more information about SOC 12:
Sample of a syllabus (for full semester course -- same ideas and policies but different timelines, and only one instructor!)
