Watching videos and social media posts on college advice made me realize how toxic the college admissions process is. I wanted people to understand that you do not need to be good at everything to get into a dream school.

Controversies come and go, but without consistent accountability, politicians may not feel pressured to apologize and do better. When politicians aren’t held accountable for controversial actions, people start to lose trust in the government and feel conflicted about whom to believe. The public and media must hold politicians accountable to ensure honesty and trust in government, enabling better policies.

With the Phone Free Schools Act ensuring that schools have cell phone policies by 2026, Carlmont High School put out a survey for the next school year's phone policy. The survey displayed one option to ban phones completely and the other to allow phones during free periods and lunch. This raises concerns about whether banning phones in daily lives will actually solve root causes of addiction.

As the cost of attendance increases, many qualified students can't afford to attend their dream schools or may incur significant debt, ultimately limiting opportunity and increasing inequality. I believe College should be accessible to all students such that more people can achieve their academic goals.

With evolving technologies, we can work more, so most days off are used for catch-up by students and those in the workforce. Additionally, I think hustle culture can sometimes promote overworking and burnout. I don't think there can be a perfect balance; rather, time management that allows people to work efficiently and still have time for leisure.

After finishing my government class, I noticed that history provides context for movements, events, and the origins of certain rights. Without a basic understanding of history, voters can be prone to misinformation and make less informed decisions when voting, which can have severe consequences for society, including poor public policy and community polarization.

After seeing a factory explode in Tennessee, I thought about how safe it was to be in factories back then in the 20th century compared to now. While there are more regulations, I realized how weak regulations can result in communities and workers at increased risks for danger, and how companies need to strive to improve their practices.

Watching more immigration raids take place across the country made me wonder if they benefit communities more than harm them, which inspired me to write this article.

After Valentine's Day, controversy began brewing between Walmart and small businesses over who makes better custom cakes on social media. As someone passionate about baking, I wanted to express my opinion of how cakes are essential for celebrations and do not have to be expensive or fancy to be enjoyed.

Reading news articles about the death of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, I couldn't help but think about why people rejoiced for his death. That's when I realized it was because people are denied healthcare. I wanted to show the corruption of the healthcare industry in the U.S. and a way to improve it.
