This year (2024-2025), I am an editor for the Highlander. I design spreads for articles and photos and give my writers and photographer feedback. Editing for the Highlander not only allowed me to help give others feedback and constructive criticism, but also how to improve my own writing and understand what makes a great article.
When giving feedback to my writers and photographers, I check for grammar, AP style, flow to make sure the quality of the articles and photos are good before designing my spreads. I give detailed explanations as to why I do point reductions such that there are no misunderstandings when taking off points, and try to make suggestions with my comments to give them ideas on how to improve as shown below.
