YAC Garden workshop grows plants and communities
After participants planted native plants in the Barrett Community Center Garden, the organizers gave out plants for them to take home so they can help improve the environment from their homes. I wanted to get back into photography with this event, and I was happy to take more action shots.
Dancing with the Scots
Participants of the Carlmont Dance Day perform a series of leaps and turns across the dance studio. Members of Carlmont’s intermediate and advanced dance teams instruct the participants and demonstrate how to perform various moves.
Watching Shaniece Calderon, the University of California's Merced dance team's captain, teach alongside the Carlmont dance teams was nothing short of impressive. After the event, I was inspired to take more action shots.

Instruments echoed inside the Performing Arts Center (PAC). At 2024 Chamber Music Night, Carlmont students from the Carlmont music programs perform a piece they choose. I wanted to capture the intensity of students' focus as they perform.

For my staff profile about Shelley Bustamante, the SOS (Students Offering Support) coordinator and crisis management counselor, I captured a joyful moment of Bustamante talking to a student.
I captured Genevieve Tep and Carlmont choir students singing famous Christmas carols to children. Many sang along and enjoyed the festive spirit.
A member of the Carlmont Peer Tutoring Club tutors her friend calculus at the start of the school year to improve her success.
I captured Sadie, a black Labrador and one of the therapy dogs that came to the quad, licking an ASB student’s face. Sadie and the fellow dogs bring joy to the stressed students as exam season started.
