La Poesia dell'Essere

La Poesia dell'Essere is the first edition of a series of international events for eco-embodied visual arts in Sicily. It is curated by the Sicilian cultural associations SICULARTE and LEREA in collaboration with IFEEA –The International Forum for Eco-Embodied Arts,  the APS TRUCIOLI and the ECOMUSEO DEL CASTAGNO DELL'ETNA DI MILO. It brings together artists exploring the presence of the body in space and its dialogue with both rural and urban natural environments through photography & audiovisual media. By fostering cross-cultural exchange and environmental awareness, La Poesia dell'Essere creates a network of artists and audiences engaged in re-imagining the relationship between body, place, and ecology. 

Eco-Embodied Visual Art practices link bodily sensation and movement with visual media to explore how lived experience is part of a shared ecosystem, inviting greater connection, responsibility, and care for all life. 

Our first events include the Solo Exhibition "Appear / Vanish - A Symbiosis between Body and Etna" and the Multi-Venue Photo & Video Exhibition "Meeting your Land" which take place in villages around the Etna area between May and October 2026. In this volcanic area the landscape stands at the intersection of past and present histories — of vine, olive, and citrus cultivation, native and planted woodlands, and the moon-like hills of lava rocks. The Etna Volcano, with its constant activity, reminds us of the regenerative cycles and life force of the earth, continually reshaping the land’s geology.
