Internship Goals and objectives:

1. Help develop programs

   1. Unit 6

      1. Plan and execute 3 programs for the unit 6 offenders (crafts & games)

      2. Create relevant and fun activities for participants

      3. Promote library resources while in the unit

   2. Spring Reading Program

      1. Promote and disperse materials to inmates for the program with enough time to complete the readings

      2. Determine prizes for participants according to budget

      3. Raise awareness of library resources throughout program

      4. Track number of participants to gage interest

2. Refine reference skills

   1. Answer inmate reference submissions

   2. Use skills that I learned throughout the program to find accurate information effectively

   3. Learn the rules and regulations within the prison system to answer reference questions accordingly

   4. Track my time efficiency to become faster at answering while maintaining and increasing quality of reference answers

3. Gain understanding of general library skills- technical and processing

   1. Operations

   2. Cataloguing

   3. Collection development

   4. User experience and developing a space (Golden location)

   5. Gage my confidence level in each activity throughout and understanding of how these systems work together
