Do I have to be a PTA member to attend a meeting or volunteer?

No, you do not have to be a member to attend a PTA meeting or volunteer. Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting. Official PTA members have voting privileges, and California PTA perks. To continue operating the PTA we need 15 official members. The cost of a membership is $10.

How can I help the PTA?

To directly help the PTA check the Support tab for direct help. For volunteer opportunities, please fill out our volunteer interest form. Visit our Facebook page for updates and volunteer opportunity. Attend a meeting and decide what you can help with.

How much commitment is the PTA?

Commitment is up to you. Commit to what you can complete. If you can only help clean up at an event or setup, that is okay. Have awesome computer skills or crafting skills? Come help out the PTA. Maybe computer and drawing is not your style, you can volunteer to buy stuff and drop it off at school. The more parents volunteer means the workload for the PTA Officers lessens.

When are the PTA Meetings?

We meet the 1st Thursday of every month at 6p. There is no December meeting. Click the meeting tab for the Zoom information.

Where can I find volunteer opportunities?

Please fill out our volunteer interest form and the PTA will reach out to you. Outside the front office is PTA News Board with PTA Updates and volunteer opportunities. Check our Facebook Page for up to date volunteer spots. Don't have a Facebook? Then email laneviewpta@gmail.com stating you would like to help. You can also attend a PTA meeting. When you do volunteer to help out at school your student is welcome to hangout while you help.

What is a General Meeting?

A general meeting is the monthly PTA meeting where parents, staff and principal attend. An Executive Board Meeting or Board Meeting refers to an Executive Board meeting in which only PTA Officers attend.

What is the Executive Board?

The Executive Board is made up of PTA Officers, parents who commit to completing Official PTA work in order to operate our organization. The Board discusses the Budget for the school and how to implement Laneview activities. Without the Executive Board there is no PTA and if there is no PTA the funds are then frozen until an Executive Board is assembled. Each position maxes out at 2 years. A PTA Officer does not need to complete 2 years but most often they decide to stay for 2 years.

How do I become part of the Executive Board?

To be part of the Board you must either be Elected or Voted in by the PTA. Talk to a PTA Officer and let them know you are interested or contact laneviewpta@gmail.com to get more information.

I want to help the PTA but I have a younger child.

We understand that families at Laneview have multiple siblings. Your child is welcome to be with you while volunteering, permitting that the job is not requiring a difficult build. Some of our lovely PTA Officers usually have their children with them when they are on school grounds doing activities.
