Below are some photographs of the women of the
Carbally Ladies' Land League,
along with some of their descendants and relatives.

The two above photos are of Miss Alice Flynn. She lived in a house at the crossroads immediately south of Carbally Chapel. She later became Mrs. Lodge of Ballymacaw.

This photo is of Margaret Taylor who later became Margaret White.

This is another photo of Margaret Taylor White, looking very elegant.

This is Margaret Taylor White with her daughter in-law, Lily Murphy White.

This is Margaret with her three sons, Nicholas, Joseph and Ivan.

Miss Mary Power became President of the Ladies' Land League in Carbally about a month after its foundation. She continued as President for as long as the necessity for the League existed. Mary was born in the townland of Liscelty. As there were (and are) a number of families called Power in that area, she was usually called Mary Liscelty to distinguish her family from the other Power families in the district. On February 7th, 1883, she was married at Carbally Chapel to Mr. James Cullinane of Ballylegat. This photo of Mary Cullinane née Power (May Liscelty) was taken in her later years in Ballycashin. She’s the elderly lady in black with the distinctive hat (back row, second from left). The others are the Ryans of Dunhill and the Dunphys of Ballycashin.

This is the wedding photo of Stasia Ryan, now Mrs. Stasia Wall, taken around 1947 outside of Dooley's Hotel, with other family members & friends. May Liscelty is in black, to the right of the bride.
