This project explores the topic of social media addiction and its effects on individuals and society. It includes an analysis of my personal results from a social media addiction quiz, research on social media use statistics, and my personal reflections on how social media shapes behavior and relationships today.
My Social Media Addiction Survey Results
According to my results from the social media addiction quiz, I am Fairly Reliant on social media. I think this result is accurate because I use platforms like Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok several times a day to stay connected and entertained. However, I do notice that I sometimes check my phone out of habit rather than for a real reason. The quiz made me realize how easy it is to become dependent on social media without noticing it.
Interesting Social Media Statistic
I chose this statistic because it shows how connected my generation is to social media. I relate to this since I use my phone throughout the day to communicate, watch videos, and stay updated. It’s interesting because it shows how social media isn’t just entertainment anymore—it’s part of everyday life, which can make it hard to disconnect even when we want to.
Social Media’s Impact on Society
In my opinion, social media has a powerful influence on society, both good and bad. On one hand, it helps people connect across distances, share ideas, and raise awareness about important issues. On the other hand, it often causes stress, comparison, and misinformation. Many people measure their worth by likes or followers, which can hurt self-esteem and mental health. I think social media can be positive if used responsibly, but too much reliance on it can take away from real-life connections and experiences.
Through this project, I learned that social media affects more areas of life than I realized. I also learned how important it is to set boundaries with my screen time and be more intentional about how I use apps. Understanding the research helped me see that being “Fairly Reliant” is common, but it’s something I can manage with awareness and balance.
