New website, community launch at annual meeting.
The lake level gauge was installed on Nov 1st 2025 and is located North of the bridge on the east seawall.
Data collection is ongoing. New readings are posted weekly.
Water clarity is measured at 3 locations on the lake, using a Secchi disc. The average of the 3 measurements is plotted. Data is from 2 sources, 1) Nebraska Lake Management (NLM), 2) Lake Ventura Association Lake Management Committee (LMC). Higher clarity often indicates lower blue-green algae levels and a healthier ecosystem.
Secchi disc is a circular disk lowered in the water until it disappears used to measure water clarity or transparency, which indicates how deeply light can penetrate the water column.
