We are attempting to establish a Pool Committee to address things of common interest -- contact Paul or Alicia if you'd like to participate. A small group of long-term local homeowners serve as Directors to sustain the Pool and provide overall direction.
Budget
The Pool operated under a break-even budget for the ten years up through 2019, and required about 35 member families to cover expenses. Following was a typical breakdown of our annual budget over this time:
INCOME $10K
+ Membership fees of $9K and Visitors/Parties/Concessions of up to $1K
EXPENSES $9-10K
- Property tax, State permit, and Insurance = $1K
- Paint and supplies to open the pool = $1K
- Operating supplies and chemicals = $1K
- Utilities (water, electricity, trash service) = $1K
- Guards = $5-6K
NOTE that all other work is volunteer.
About $1K must be held at the end of the season to cover costs that occur before the next season begins.
In 2020 - 2024 we were able to invest about $15K in a new pavilion roof, new filters, new pump house roof, and new furniture.
For the 2025 season we hope to create a Pool Committee to guide further repairs and improvements. The pool bowl (bottom & walls) and concrete deck each have structural issues that will need to be addressed before long. A permanent shelter or shade at the entrance area has also been discussed.
