RAISING MONEY FOR CLAN CANCER SUPPORT
In the last week of term, we have many pupil-led events taking place which place our value of COMMUNITY in its rightful place at the heart of the action in school.
Ayla and Lily in P6 have organised a sale of toys, candles, bric-a-brac and a host of other items in order to raise money for CLAN Cancer Support. The idea was conceived by Ayla, and both pupils (and their parents!) have worked so hard on bringing it together. The sale will be taking place on Monday afternoon (and on Tuesday if not all classes get an opportunity to visit) so we would encourage all children to bring spare change so they can make a difference! Items will be priced from £1 - £3. Jams will also be available for sale on the Lairhillock Parent Facebook page, and all proceeds will go to the same worthy cause.
WINDOW HUNT
Emily, Emily and Tyler in P5 have worked so hard to organise a Window Hunt around school next week to bring some joy to everyone before the holidays begin! They will be coming round classes to explain all on Monday. This is just for fun rather than fundraising, but there will be in-school prizes such as house points to be won!
HALLOWEEN DRESS-UP PHOTO COMPETITION
We are not in school during Halloween this year, and we are unable to hold a Halloween disco as has been tradition previously. However, Ameli, Elin and Isadora in P5 are running a whole school costume competition. On Halloween, dress up in your most imaginative, creative, spookiest outfit and ask a grown-up to take a photo. Photos to be submitted to school by Wednesday 3rd November please! Family photos also welcome!
DRESS-DOWN DAY
There will be a dress-down day taking place in school on Friday 15th October to celebrate the end of term. We are asking for a silver donation, which will be split 50/50 between school funds and a (still to be) nominated charity.
