The Language & Accessibility in Alert & Warning Workgroup (LAAWW) held the virtual Multilingual Alerting Summit on May 14, 2026 from 8:30am-2pm Pacific (11:30am-5pm Eastern).
We discussed the use of various emergency alerting software systems to send multilingual alerts. The opening session included a presentation about multilingual alerts in action. Next, we offered individual breakout groups by software type. System users discussed the pros and cons of various methods for issuing multilingual alerts. We gathered lessons learned, feedback about the software, and questions about/ideas for product features.
