About our social club/circle

This is a group/circle that we build together, and students/parents contribute equally. We usually pay teachers electronic payments using services like PayPay. During English lessons, we generally immerse ourselves in English. If you wish to take photos during the English lessons, please obtain consent from those who will appear in the photos. Photos taken by the representative may be shared internally among members for record-keeping and initial surveys, but will not be posted on social media. The event locations are either at the representative's home near Kitaoji Station (6 minutes walk), or at the Doshin Children's Hall (Marutamachi Station/Kyoto City Hall Station).

Our primary purpose is to discuss children's foreign language education (mainly English) and brain development (effective parenting), and to exchange information. We customize teaching materials and lesson plans to suit our own children. We encourage open discussion to continuously improve and adapt to our children's needs.

We share member's teaching materials and resources, and also support each other in English at home. We also negotiate with teachers and activity venues ourselves, working together in a spirit of cooperation and mutual exchange. We gather and share information about existing English lessons (either free or low-cost) and incorporate ideas from these into our customized lessons.

Considering our children's developmental stages, we do not offer traditional/classical classroom-style lessons with native English teachers (those seeking such lessons are encouraged to explore other organizations or language schools). We prepare basic lesson plans but consciously aim to follow the children's interests and build the lessons based on what captures their attention. Students/children should not be forced to follow the same activities or schedules. Our paid English lessons focus on activities that should be taught only by native English speakers, incorporating elements from Montessori and Kubota methods, among other educational approaches.

We hold the following three principles dear, inspired by the book 'Thirty Million Words' by Dana Suskind:

Paid courses with native teachers are offered hourly and shared among members, but activities that can be conducted without native teachers, such as circle activities or home-based English learning, are also available. For those who want their children to enjoy English learning up to a certain level, we believe that participating in native English teacher-led courses or circle activities is sufficient. However, for those who wish their children to be proficient in English (CEFR C1 or higher) and be able to communicate effectively in English when they grow up, a simple 'fun' approach to English will not provide enough time for growth. Therefore, we engage in material sharing and information exchange within our circle activities while encouraging home English learning. Additionally, we actively promote language development through educational activities to prioritize mother tongue growth.
