I illustrated this art panel for a children’s book adaptation project.
I wanted to convey the stuffiness, heat, and agony that Cinderella felt as she slept beside an open furnace.
I first worked out the shot composition, creating two parallel lines on the top right and bottom left frames. I intended this skewed perspective to evoke a sense of discomfort in the viewer.
Afterward, I sketched the environment and character mannequin. Once everything looked right, I lined, colored, and shaded the work according to the character sheet and aesthetic of the adaptation.
