Background:

I currently live in Jordan, a country full of amazing ruins. I wanted to highlight some of these amazing places.

Design:

Alignment: All of the photos are aligned and shaped to look like many of the roman archways in Jordan. The Text breaks the alignment to either side to draw attention to itself.

Repetition: The shapes are repeated, as well as the large text top and bottom.

Contrast: The biggest contrast is the center image of the treasury at Petra. Jordan is beautiful, but most of the county is of a similar tan color. I used this as a theme to capture the look and feel of the country, but with the central image at sunset adding the contrasting orange.

Font: The font used is Papyrus, capturing the rough middle-eastern feel.

Photoshop Skills Used:

• Content Aware fill was used to remove people from images.

• Shapes tool was used to make placeholder spots and image masks.

• Camera Raw filter was used to straighten lines and correct perspective on some images.
