Background:

The original image is a halloween costume. The image was added to a Tatooine background with a light saber to make a Star Wars image.

Design:

I placed the main subject, the Jedi, on the left third line for artistic focus. She is also centered under the arch to reinforce that she is the focal point. The light saber color was chosen to complement the subject's tastes, but it creates a contrast to the rest of the neutral tones in the image.

Photoshop Skills Used:

• The Quick Selection tool was used to do an initial selection of the young woman.

• The Mask and Select interface was used to refine the selection.

• The paint tool and a Hue/Saturation mask were used to create the light saber.
