With over half it's population consisting of university students, Leuven is a vibrant, quirky city that has much to offer. Tours and social activities will be offered during orientation week. Open all semester is the international student café- a social café, no computers or studying allowed, and a great way to meet other students. You can stop in to chat or even volunteer to work a shift. The traffic-free city center offers restaurants and shops galore, and the entire city is bikeable or walkable. Many students rent a bicycle from the university for their semester. The university has a gym for exercising, sports clubs, and group activities.
