There is one application for semester programs managed by Gies Global Programs. You can rank up to 10 programs on your application. Click the link above to apply in My Study Abroad.

Information:

You will receive an e-mail from Leuven with the application instructions after nomination are made in March for fall participants and late September for spring participants. Fall participants should receive the email from Leuven by early April and spring participants will receive the email by early October.

Once accepted you will be sent an email with more information regarding housing, registration, and the visa process. 

KU Leuven Requirements:

• Minimum GPA 3.0/4.0

• Completed at least 30 credit hours before the KUL semester begins (at least one semester must be on the UIUC campus for off-campus transfer students)

• Any major may apply but business courses may be required. (ACES students should fill out the ACES KU Leuven application and LAS students should fill out the LAS KU Leuven application)

Deadline:

• Fall Semester: February 1st 

• If ranking both Fall and Spring options on application: February 1st

• Spring Semester :

  • Spring only (Early Access): February 1st

  • Additional rounds: June 15th and September 1st

  • Any remaining spots for Spring programs after the February 1st deadline will be open for the June 15th deadline. If available, they will also be open for the September 1st deadline.

• Note: Study abroad slots for each location are given out first in the Fall. Any remaining slots will be given in the Spring semester. If location is your top priority, we recommend applying for the Fall semester.
