The Swearing-in Ceremony of the new Kugama community Executive Committee (EXCO) took place on May 2, 2026. The event marked a significant moment for the community as the newly elected members officially assumed their responsibilities.

Updates on the oral Bible translation into Kugama (Sept 2024): We are thrilled to announce that the Bible Translation Team has successfully completed the oral translation of three books of the Bible — Luke, John, and Matthew — into Kugama! This accomplishment was made possible by the dedication and hard work of everyone involved into this work. A heartfelt congratulations goes out to the entire team for this incredible achievement and to our community for their enthusiastic participation and valuable discussions throughout the process.
The 2nd Adamawa Conference took place on September 13–15, 2023, in Paris, France. It aimed to bring together research on the languages traditionally referred to as Adamawa. A presentation on the Kugama language was also given at the conference: Lora Litvinova discussed different noun and verb forms and the meanings they can express. The talk was titled ‘Nominal and Verbal Allomorphy in Kugama’. More information about the conference can be found here:
The Kugama day anniversary 2023 took place on February 13 - 14 at the Kugama Kuri Prmary School. The celebration was accompanied by dancing, singing and playing musical instruments.
