At almost every Conclave within recent memory, and on countless interim occasions, the National Council has been asked to supply one or more of the Chapters with the design for a campus monument for Sigma Tau. In every case, the answer has been the same. "We have no standard or typical Sigma Tau monument. It is our policy, in this as in most things, to encourage the local chapters to demonstrate a maximum of originality in the design and construction of monuments which will thereby embody their own ideas."
As a result, several Chapters have done exactly that and the results speak for the propriety of the policy. Large or small; stone, metal or concrete; simple or elaborate; the variations of the Pyramid, Rail Section and the Eight-Pointed Star with the letters Sigma and Tau which adorn the campuses are tributes to the imagination and ingenuity of our members. In addition to the monument type of structure, there are numerous other reminders which illustrate the symbols of our fraternity.
