Crash Landing on You describes the story of two lovers, a South Korean chaebol and a North Korean officer, who meet each other after an unfortunate storm, leading to Yoon Se-ri, the South Korean heiress, to land in North Korea and encounter Ri Jeong-Hyuk, the officer. The two struggle to find a way to get Yoon Se-ri back to South Korea and go through difficult obstacles along the way while developing feelings for one another.

This drama overviews themes of South Korean culture, relations with the possible Korean unification, and the painful past of the two countries.

Itaewon Class tells the story of ex-convict Park Sae-Ro-Yi whose life has been turned upside down after he gets expelled from school for punching a bully and his father is killed in an accident. Following his father's steps, he opens his bar-restaurant DanBam in Itaewon. Alongside his manager, Jo Yi-Seo, and his staff, he strives towards success and reaching greater heights while battling against a food business run by the people that once ruined his life. His battle against them fuels his motivation to be the best and do what is right.

Itaewon Class highlights topics dealing with social life in South Korea, feminism, the concept of strong females in society, racial equality, and LGBTQ rights.
