Kraken Water Systems installs and services reverse osmosis drinking-water systems for Del Mar homeowners. Get better-tasting water for drinking, coffee and cooking from a dedicated kitchen faucet, with equipment selected for your household and a clean, serviceable installation.
Work directly with Steve at an owner-operated San Diego County water-treatment and plumbing company. We install traditional tank and tankless RO systems, replace older equipment, and service many systems installed by other companies.
We review cabinet space, cold-water supply, drain routing, faucet location and household demand before recommending equipment. Planning a remodel? Discuss the RO faucet and any refrigerator connection before cabinets and counters are finished.

RO uses a membrane and supporting filters to reduce dissolved substances at a dedicated drinking-water faucet. It can improve the taste of water used for drinking, cooking, coffee and tea. The substances reduced depend on the exact system and its independently verified performance claims. Discuss specific concerns before choosing equipment.
A Del Mar mailing address does not always identify the water utility serving a property. Confirm your provider and review its annual water-quality report. Our Del Mar Water Quality Guide explains the City report and the differences between drinking-water filtration, softening and whole-house carbon filtration. An RO installation should address your preferences and verified needs; it does not imply that the municipal supply is unsafe.
A traditional system stores filtered water in a pressurized tank and needs space for both filters and the tank. A tankless system produces water on demand, usually requires electricity, and has model-specific flow and pressure requirements. We compare cabinet space, household demand, replacement-filter availability and ongoing maintenance before recommending a system.
1. Evaluate the existing plumbing, cabinet space, water pressure and intended faucet location.
2. Select the equipment and confirm the installation scope, including any counter work or refrigerator connection.
3. Connect the cold-water feed, install the drinking-water faucet, secure tubing and make the appropriate drain connection.
4. Flush and start the system according to its instructions, inspect for leaks and check operation.
5. Explain filter and membrane care, shutoff locations and future service access.
We confirm the work needed for your home before installation. System choice, access, faucet work, drain routing and any additional plumbing affect the estimate.
Kraken services many existing systems, including equipment installed by another company. Ask about filter and membrane replacement, low flow, slow production, leaks, tanks and faucets. Share the make and model, a photo of the system and the symptoms so we can discuss the next step.
RO treats drinking water at a specific outlet. For scale on shower glass, fixtures or water-heating equipment, discuss water softening and any appropriate pretreatment separately.
Often, depending on the tubing route, distance, appliance pressure requirements and system capacity. We evaluate compatibility before including it in the installation.
RO produces a reject-water stream. The amount varies with the model, feed-water pressure and conditions. Ask about the proposed system’s rated efficiency and operating requirements when comparing options.
Follow the selected system’s service instructions. Filter and membrane life depend on water conditions, use and equipment design. We explain the maintenance schedule and can provide ongoing service.
Tell us what you want to improve. A utility report provides background, while appropriate testing can help investigate a particular concern. A TDS reading alone does not identify individual contaminants or establish drinking-water safety.
