Mechanics of Advanced Materials Lab
We are broadly interested in understanding the process-structure-property-performance relations in advanced materials and structures. We use a variety of different measurement techniques to explore the origins of temperature-dependent and rate-sensitive response of advanced materials and structures at multiple length and time scales.
May 2024- Dr. Ibnaj Anamika Anni, Nicholas Mennie, Dr. Kazi Zahir Uddin, and Dr. Jeeva Muthulingam defended their theses and dissertations in May 2024. Congratulations to all!
February 2024- **New Publications** in collaboration with the University of Lyon: Influence of nearby fiber on fiber-matrix debonding: Coupled Criterion prediction and debonding shape determination. Journal of the Mechanics and Physics of Solids
September 2023- Our PhD student Zaynab Hazaveh received the Wind Institute Fellowship Award from the New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA). As part of this award, Zaynab will work on the research project titled Multiscale Mechanics and Failure of Wind Turbine Composites by Experimental Characterization.
June 2023- In collaboration with the Shreiber School of Veterinary Medicine, our lab helped develop a prosthetic goat leg. Read more about Fortunado here.
