Amanda Sheffield is a US-licensed BCBA. After receiving her Bachelor's in psychology from California State Sacramento, she went on to receive her Master's in Teaching with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis at National University while working with children diagnosed with ASD. Amanda has over 13 years of experience in the field of ABA. In addition to her role as Clinic Director of Asana Counseling Center, she also holds professorships at a Korean and US university.
Debora Rodrigues is a certified International School Counselor with 17 years of experience, and has supported a large number of international students through these years. Originally from Brazil, she now works on Jeju Island, South Korea. Her expertise spans across helping students navigate the unique challenges of a globalized education environment. Additionally, she is trained in child safeguarding, ensuring the highest standards of care, safety, and well-being for all students under her guidance.
Dr. Reggianini is the founder and clinical director of the Korea Psychological Group. His approach with psycho-educational and neuropsychological evaluations is to develop a pattern of strengths and weaknesses to help patients obtain their goals and become successful. He utilizes up-to-date assessments, clinically sound judgment, and provide comprehensive treatment plans. Dr. Reggianini received his graduate training with experts in the field of psychological evaluations in New York City: Drs. Dawn Flanagan, Samuel Ortiz, and Vincent Alfonso. He specialized in the identification and treatment of Math Learning Disorder, perhaps the least common of the Specific Learning Disorders. He understands the procedural, visual spatial, and linguistic aspects of mathematics for students. Additionally, he is well-versed in the evaluation of Reading and Writing Learning Disorders.
Gloria Kim is a Middle School Counselor at St. Johnsbury Academy Jeju. She was a school psychologist in New Jersey and Washington public schools for 6 years. Gloria also has experience working as a psychometrician in a nonprofit organization in NYC. She received a Master of Science in Teaching and an Advanced Certificate in Bilingual School Psychology from Fordham University.
Heidi Mermis-Cava is the Director of Student Support Services at Shanghai American School. Heidi was a school psychologist in California public schools and coordinator of various special education programs within her districts for 15 years before moving overseas. Her professional scope of practice is as a Nationally Credentialed School Psychologist, Licensed School Counselor, and a Licensed Educational Psychologist. She worked in Brazil as a school psychologist and Director of Student Support Services for eight years. Heidi has consulted with numerous international schools and the U.S. State Department Office of Overseas Schools. She has presented at various conferences encompassing student support services, school counseling and EAL within international school settings. Heidi has lived in Shanghai since 2019, is married and has two children.
Hugh Kwon is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Ohio, USA and a certified counselor in Korea. He is a co-founder and co-CEO of Integrated Counseling Services and has more than 14 years of experience conducting therapy and has provided various workshops and lectures in schools and corporations. Hugh has specialty in relationship issues and has helped adolescent and adult clients for a variety of issues from adjustment challenges to mood and anxiety disorders and ADHD.
Ms. Jaime LaDawn Roya, originally from Houston, Texas, has extensive experience in education, having worked as a high school English teacher, Graduation Coach, and School Counselor. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Texas and a Master of Education in Counselor Education from Houston Christian University. Since starting her international career in Doha, Qatar in 2017, she now serves as Head of Counseling and DP College Counselor at Taejon Christian International School in South Korea. Jaime LaDawn is passionate about helping students find their voice and advocating for School Counselors to maintain professional boundaries and effective role identities. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring Korean cuisine, indoor cycling, and is pursuing licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas.
Kyuseok Kim (KS) has built a robust expertise in international education, strategic planning, student recruitment, international relations, and business development across public and private sectors. His career includes roles at UWAY Co., M Square Media, SUNY Korea, and Sungkyunkwan University. Currently a doctoral candidate at Korea University, KS also holds an MBA from Sungkyunkwan University and a BA in English Education from Korea University. As a Fulbright Scholar, he contributes actively to scholarly discourse.
Margaret Park is an education equity consultant who works with organizations to make positive changes for all community members. Margaret is committed to fostering leadership development with experience in school leadership, facilitating professional development, training leadership teams, counseling, mentoring, coaching, and curating innovative learning spaces. Margaret is a Fulbright Scholar and received an Education Masters and Certificate of Advanced Studies from Harvard Graduate School of Education. Margaret is also a Network of Korean American Leaders fellow and a member of the Council of Korean Americans. Margaret is particularly interested in thinking about leadership through an equity and justice lens.
Philip Bowman is the Co-founder and CEO of MARIO Education and has 18 years of experience as a learning support educator. He was named EdTech Digest’s School Leader of the Year for 2024. NASEN published a 6-year retrospective study on Philip’s unique pedagogical approach to one-to-one learning conversations, known as the MARIO Approach. Co-authored by Dr. Katie Novak, the study ranked the approach's efficacy in the top 5% of all educational interventions.
Sarah Carpenter has an extensive background in education. She has worked as a classroom teacher, specialist, learning coach, admin, and counselor across K-12. Sarah has a heart for growth and helping schools build robust social emotional programs that empower students, teachers and parents.
She holds a Bachelor of Education and Diploma of Teaching from Massey University in New Zealand; a Master of Arts in Educational Administration from Michigan State University and a Master of Science in School Counseling from Capella University.
Currently Sarah serves as the Upper Village counselor at Chadwick International.
