Being a member, an executive council member, and a competitor at UC HOSA has been a very meaningful experience this past year. During the fall semester, being a member provided various resources. It allowed me to step outside of the routine academic work and investigate interesting ethical dilemmas, listen to esteemed guest speakers, and so on. During the spring semester, I was given the opportunity to be Secretary of the chapter. In fulfilling this role, I worked with the rest of the council to send biweekly emails to the members, timely reply to other emails, and maintain attendance records. Moreover, I also participated and won first place in a competitive event called Health Career Photography which aims to inspire members to use photography to explore different health careers at the Ohio State Leadership Conference.
