I am Kirtanaa Muthukrishnan. I am a fourth-year Honors Student, majoring in Medical Sciences. I intend to use this portfolio to showcase my experiences during my years at UC and as an honors student. I especially look forward to exploring my interests in social justice and healthcare. Through such opportunities, I am determined to keep evolving to be the best version of myself. I also am committed to utilizing my strengths of harmony, empathy, and individualization to grow personally and professionally.
My sprouting interest in becoming a doctor was solidified into grounded ambition through my years in high school. Through the utilization of various opportunities ranging from college-level courses to real organ dissections, I started to enjoy studying the intricacies of the human body. As I heard stories from my teachers of their times as ER nurses, army medics, and trauma surgeons, the deeper I became captivated by the field of healthcare. I grew fascinated with the vitality of a doctor in an individual’s life: present from prevention to rehabilitation. Although the ulterior goal of several other health professions is to help people, doctors have the most rewarding opportunity. Today, I am committed to pursuing a profession in medicine.
