So, this is my history of my working career. It has been cut and pasted
August '20 to now... STAY AT HOME MUM AND COMPANY DIRECTOR OF KIWI INK CONSTRUCTION LTD
My children's father is a qualified builder and together we built our company up from the ground. I tender out our service and manage all accounts, its employees and the owner towards our goal of becoming successful in that our brand and business is known in Waikato. Currently, we have 3 properties awaiting construction however building supplies are somewhat hard to fulfill so these projects are on hold for the time being. Currently. we are providing maintenance and contractual building to the Waikato region and this seems to be going well.
I also manage the children which, in its own right, is a full time job however, the rewards are there to see every day!
December '19 to August '20... OWENS CUSTOMER SERVICE
I loved this role. It was easy, learning the various interesting transport system that governs the whole of Mainfreight Transport and its subsidiary companies. I managed well over 100 clients and their transportation of their goods to many areas of New Zealand. The importance of this role included the understanding how the transport system of road vs train worked and also combining them to ensure customers freight arrived on time and undamaged.
It was also my responsibility to ensure that the damaged freight was audited by the damages department and I assisted in the client retaining part fees for damaged goods.
What I really considered vital in this role, was the constant requirement to keep customers happy and although it sounds easy, it really wasn't. The customers required continual updates throughout each and every day of the whereabouts of their freight and I found that although we had many unhappy customers, their ease from unhappiness greatly determined on how we, as customer service representatives, treated them. My team quickly discovered that many of the customers calling on our mainlines, were asking for me. This did not go down very well however, I pursued my dedication to the customers and eventually Covid19 would prevail affecting my work/life balance and we sold up and moved to Ngaruawahia.
August '18 to December '19.... MAINFREIGHT LOGISTICS!!!
I work at 2 Railway Lane, Otahuhu for the Logistics Team. Headed by Allan Lowe, we strive to exceed in our Logistical world. Often, it is a logistical nightmare however, my team, Harkness & Young deliver on more than 120 orders every day. Of those orders, they include N/Rs, Dairys and non-pallet orders. Harkness & Young provide mainstream suppliers such as Briscoes, Bunnings, Mitre 10 and many other various consumer companies with a variety of stock ranging from ladders, fencing and scaffolding to the much smaller stock such as fire alarms, numeral adhesives and various miscellaneous household items.
I learned very quickly how to navigate around MIMS and Mainstreet and my highlights believe it or not, was learning how to drive and use the forks, picks and reach... however, I don't really like the reach too much to be honest (just doesn't feel right to operate it).
I am also in charge of the daily administration of Harkness & Young. I handle the claims and discuss the issues with the client, Metro, Transport and the couriers Harkness & Young use. The administration role also stretches to any queries Harkness & Young may have via email or over the phone and over the year I have worked in this group, I have established and maintained a better working relationship with Harkness & Young than what was on offer when I started. Generally, my team was known and unkindly named "trouble spot". Communications were somewhat unclear and queries were left unsolved and/or ignored largely due to workload. Since I have been on-board, the client has a person they can contact throughout the day, our systems have been more streamlined, queries never go unnoticed and things generally get done! With Harkness & Young, communication is key and that is what they are now receiving.
Apart from managing the daily influx of communications, I also work the floor, pick and help with inwards. Boring is a dirty word in our world and I have never had a boring day in my space at Railway Lane!!

They played a pivotal role in teaching and providing me with the necessary tools to ensure my future in the legal field became successful and I am still very close with them today.
