Hi, I'm Roland, the first king of Ruboria and its founder. I've been a micronationalist for over ten years now, with my entry to the community coming before I even knew what a micronation was. I guess you could say I always meant to be a micronationalist.
After discovering micronationalism through YouTube I was immediately interested in the idea. I drew connections to past activities I did with my friends, namely the Leaf Fort that we were forced to abandon a year or so prior to my discovery of micronations. We had a system of government, citizens, a flag, claimed territory, many of the attributes of a micronation. So, I figured, why should I leave that part of my life behind? I couldn't go back to what we once had since my friends and I were growing up and growing out of the games we used to play, but I could start something new. I wanted to carry on the legacy of the Leaf Fort, and that's what Ruboria was in the beginning. A way for me to cling onto something from the past that made me happy.
But I'm proud to say that Ruboria has become much more than a holdout of the Leaf Fort. Its gained an identity of its own, its matured and found new goals to guide itself. And I'm happy to have been with this project since the very beginning.
I'm a bit of a private guy, so you might not see many (if any) pictures of me online, and I may not be too interactive on social media. But I really love the micronational community, and I'm grateful to have this platform to share this project that has meant so much to me with the rest of the world.Â
Outside of micronationalism, I have interests in flags, history, geopolitics, Star Wars, and nature.
