Ruboria's current mission is comprised of three basic components:
Off-Grid Living
Conservation
Preservation of Values
These three principles are the pillars of our nation's identity, and they motivate us at every turn.
Much of Ruboria's territory is not connected to the electric grid, and we are fine with keeping it that way.
Off-grid living is a perfect way to learn and practice survival skills and reduce dependence on utilities provided by the macronation. It reduces operation costs, and allows us to explore more avenues for our nation as we operate on our own.
New Georgia's planned first settlement, Dawson Outpost, will be entirely off gird and will be comprised of log cabins with most building materials sourced from our territory. We also have plans to cultivate the fields of both of our states to grow crops both for our own use and to sell.
The forestry industry has ravaged so many parts of rural Nova Scotia. Clear cutting has destroyed massive swaths of forests, driving the surviving animals into towns where they are treated as a nuisance. The unique Acadian forest is being destroyed before our very eyes, with only small isolated pockets spared from this war on nature.
Ruboria is dedicated to remaining an island for nature. Though small, the forests of our states will never be erased. Clear cutting is strictly forbidden, and the act of cutting down trees is only to be carried out when constructing something within the country. We are committed to planting trees in the place of ones we cut down, and our micronation will serve as a guardian for our woodlands.
We combat invasive species every year such as japanese knotweed. We do this to protect our ecosystems, not just the trees but the animals that depend on our plant life. Our recognition of the eastern cougar as our national animal reflects our desire to acknowledge our unique animal life, and a refusal to give up hope on sepeices that are considered lost by many.
Humans can live together with nature in a symbiotic relationship, and that is what Ruboria will do.
Ruboria is, in its structure, designed to be a bastion of King Roland's personal values and beliefs. This is reflected through the official religion of Ruboria, and its government structure.
Ruboria is not exclusionary, and individuals will not be turned away or persecuted if they are of different faiths or opinions. But at its core, Ruboria will always emulate King Roland's interests and beliefs. Such as his interest in traditional European monarchies, his love for flags, and of course his Christian beliefs.
