Competitions

The club competes in both the Electronic Image Division (EID) and the Print Divisions. There are a total of four print categories club members may compete in; Large Color, Large Monochrome, 96 Square Color, and 96 Square Monochrome.  

Image submission rules

Prints (Color and Monochrome)  

The photos can be taken anytime and do not have to meet the monthly theme.

Size Restrictions: Maximum size for Large Print category is 16x20 inches including any matting.  For the 96 Square category, the length times the width cannot exceed 96 square inches including any matting. (examples: 8"x 12") Max length of image cannot exceed 20 inches.  All images need to be labeled on the back.  Templates for print labels can be downloaded from the Resource Section

One Image for each category (Large Color, Large Monochrome, 96 Square Color, 96 Square Monochrome.) If there are fewer than five people entering prints, a second print may be entered into the competition, per the Print Chair's discretion. 

The 4C's has announced that effective September 1, 2018, all prints prints can be entered unmounted or mounted.  However, all call back images must be mounted prior to year end competition.


Electronic Images (EID)

1. Each member with an active (paid) membership may submit up to 6 EID images:

2. Naming convention: FirstName LastName, PhotoTitle.jpg

JohnSmith,MyStreetPhoto.jpg

3. Image dimensions: Maximum horizontal size is 1920 pixels and maximum vertical dimension is 1080 pixels.

4. Photos must be JPG,  color space should be sRGB and no watermarks are allowed on images.

All content in submitted photos must have been captured by the photographer (no imagery created by AI or another individual is allowed).

5. SUBMISSIONS ARE DUE BY 11:59 PM THE MONDAY one week BEFORE THE COMPETITION NIGHT. Email the photos as attachments to: kccc.eid@gmail.com




Example: Submitting images for competition

For example, if the competition topics are: Silhouette or  Patterned

1) John Smith has three images where silhouettes are the main subject of the photos (photos taken after July 2020)   (Of course he could also send in three images that feature patterns or two images of silhouette and one image of patterns.) 

2) And he has three images that are not silhouettes or patterns (photos taken at any time)

3) He makes sure that the image requirements are met:

    The horizontal length is not longer than 1920 pixels

     The vertical length is not longer than 1080 pixels   

    The file is in .jpg format

    No watermarks on the image and the color space should be sRGB


4) He names his images in this format: FirstName<space>LastName<comma>Photo<space>Title.jpg

5) He then submits the six images to kccc.eid@gmail.com as attachments.

   In the body of the email that he sends to kccc.eid@gmail.com he states:

   The following images belong to the themed competition:
