Symbaloo

This is the Symbaloo page that I created for my class. It is color coded by content area so students can independently figure out which resources to use based on the time of day.

Symbaloo is a free Internet resource that can be used as a visual bookmark organizer. Teachers can assign tiles to websites, online videos, Safeshare videos, etc. I have this website set as the homepage on student computers so that they can independently navigate trusted, appropriate websites without having to type in web addresses. I taught my students that the white tiles are literacy websites that they can use during our literacy times.

Symbaloo opens the websites in a new tab so students can easily go back to our class page when they are done with a website and ready for a new one. This has been a really meaningful and useful organizational resource allowing for students to navigate the Internet safely and to resources that help them meet educational goals.
