Insanity: The belief that one can get different results by doing the same thing." (Albert Einstein) Since the enactment of the No Child Left Behind Act, schools and districts are searching for the proven methods that will increase student achievement. Researchers analyzed over 22,000 studies that dealt with the effects of various factors on student achievement. Marzano's book, Classroom Instruction That Works, addresses 9 research based instructional strategies that are most likely to improve student achievement across all content areas, grades K-12. This workshop will give an overview of those nine instructional strategies with explicit examples on how to incorporate them in the classroom.
