Teacher’s Day is a special occasion that celebrates the importance of teachers in guiding and shaping our lives. Inspiring figures like John Keating from Dead Poets Society, Dumbledore from Harry Potter, Anand from Super 30, and Ram Shankar Nikumbh from Taare Zameen Par truly represent the spirit of a teacher through their dedication, compassion, and ability to transform lives.
Since my school days, I have always participated in Teacher’s Day celebrations with great enthusiasm. I enjoyed taking on the role of a teacher planning lessons, organizing ideas, and presenting them in front of a small group of students. These celebrations were simple and traditional, usually conducted within the classroom using a blackboard and involving a limited audience.
However, during my postgraduate studies, the way we celebrated Teacher’s Day changed significantly. At the departmental level, it became more creative and dynamic. Students were involved in designing lectures, creating teasers, preparing PowerPoint presentations, making videos, organizing quizzes, and even designing certificates. In today’s digital academic environment, the use of technology has become essential. Through this experience, I not only learned how to teach but also how to use digital tools effectively to reach and engage a wider audience in more innovative ways.
