Final Solutions Drama Performance
As part of my co-curricular activities, I participated in a drama performance based on Final Solutions by Mahesh Dattani, which we studied in M.A. Semester 3. This performance was a valuable experience, as it helped me gain a deeper understanding of the play beyond theoretical study.
I portrayed the character of Smita, who represents the voice of the modern woman—confident, questioning, and aware of social realities. Engaging with this role allowed me to connect more closely with the themes of identity, conflict, and social tension presented in the play. Overall, the experience enhanced both my interpretative skills and my appreciation of drama as a powerful medium of expression.
'Long Day's Journey into Night' Play by Eugene O'Neill
In Semester 2, we undertook a creative activity of making a video based on Long Day’s Journey into Night by Eugene O'Neill. This activity provided a practical and engaging way to understand the play more deeply.
In the video, I portrayed the central character of Mary Tyrone, a complex figure shaped by emotional struggles and inner conflicts. Taking on this role helped me explore her psychological depth and better understand the themes of family tension, addiction, and memory in the play. Overall, this experience enhanced my interpretative skills and allowed me to connect with the text in a more meaningful and creative way.
