About

I was born in Belarus, but spent my childhood in Russia, among medieval mounds and gloomy spruce trees. I got an equivalent of Masters in Physics (Biophysics) from the Moscow State University, and a PhD in Neuroscience from the Russian Academy of Sciences (Institute of Higher Nervous Activity and Neurophysiology, Moscow).

After grad school, I worked as a Logistics Manager and proto-Data Scientist for Procter & Gamble, specializing in predictive modeling and flow optimization in product supply networks. I then moved to Brown University, did a postdoc in the group of Carlos Aizenman, and later joined Bard College as an Assistant Professor of Neuroscience. In 2021 I moved back to industry, and joined ShareNow, to apply my experience in data science, logistics, and machine learning to new exciting challenges.

My name is pronounced ar-SE-ny ha-HA-lin. The "K" letter is silent, and is only there for socio-linguistic reasons that are completely out of my control.

In my spare time I like to paint, and run inhumane experiments on folk musical instruments.
