Input devices are hardware that are used to enter data and instruction by the USER. You may refer to the video Computer Hardware and Software Lesson Part 1 and Slides 24 - 27 of the lecture notes for further understanding.
Think back again at my question in the lecture. What are input devices that you can see at a Tesco checkout counter.

According to computerhope.com An output device is any hardware that receives data from a computer, usually for display, projection, or physical reproduction. Monitors, printers, speakers etc are examples of output device. You may refer to the video Computer Hardware and Software Lesson Part 1 and Slides 28 - 31 of the lecture notes for further understanding.
